PROJECT
The Morgan Library & Museum launched a show of a series of 48 works by American artist Lucas Samaras, known for his controversial paintings, sculptures, and installations. This exhibition showcased never-before-seen pastels created from 1958 to 1983. The works ranged in subject matter from dreamlike seascapes and interiors to self-portraits, nudes, and still lifes. The installation of the exhibition was conceived in collaboration with Samaras, who designed a psychedelic custom wallpaper for it.
